Welcome back to another school year! We’re now 2 weeks in and all the children seem to have settled well in school routines.

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new children and their families. We have 17 new children in our Nursery, 59 in Year R and 11 throughout the rest of the school. We now only have 4 spaces in the entire school, other than the Nursery!

We’ve also welcomed some new staff this term. Mr Hayward is teaching in Year 1, Damson Class; we have 3 new LSAs supporting pupils across the school, Miss Berry, Miss Sowman and Mrs Dolmaci. Sadly, Mrs Osina moved on to pastures new during the Summer. She will be greatly missed. Miss Scott will joining Year 6 and Sycamore Class in a couple of weeks time.

It’s been lovely to see so many of you coming in for our Parent Briefings this week. Hopefully you now feel more versed in the expectations of your child’s new year group. If you did not attend, you should still have received a copy of the information. These can also be found on the class pages on our website.

As part of the briefing notes, you received information on our priorities for the coming year. I shall keep you updated on our progress towards these during the coming year.

Here’s to a fantastic 2016/17. As always, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

Be kind, be safe, be responsible and embrace challenge
