It’s been a busy start to the term with lots of exciting things happening!

Hopefully many of you will have noticed we now have our defibrillator in place, thanks to all your generous donations. Please spread the word amongst our local community as, although we hope it never needs to be used, we would wish for as many people as possible to know it’s available.

Sporting wise, we have taken 2 junior teams to athletics tournaments this term already. Both did very well, placing 3rd and 4th. Keep up to date on these and many more events on our Twitter page @BoroughWest.

Congratulations to Kavindu in Year 6 who was invited to meet the Mayor last week at the opening of the new café at Poplars Care Home. Kavindu’s entry was chosen to name the café—Cup-lars! Look out for him in the KM!

West Borough now has an Online Safety Squad! On Monday, I had the pleasure of  taking some Y5/6 pupils to be trained as Online Ambassadors. They are all very excited about their new role and will be supporting children, staff and parents in keeping pupils safe when online. They will begin by leading some sessions during Safety Week on Internet Safety Day. They will also be supporting me in updating our website—check this out soon!
