Our Governors play a large role in the strategic direction of our school.

Laura Wright

I have been a parent Governor since February 2024 and took up the role of Chair of Governors in July 2024. I have two children and a nephew at West Borough. I work for the Kent Safeguarding Children Multi-agency Partnership and lead on safeguarding children policy and training in my role.

I have worked at Bower Grove School for nearly 15 years and have undertaken a number of roles, which have included: PE Teacher, Subject Leader, DSL, Education Visits Co-ordinator and Head of Behaviour. I am currently an Assistant Headteacher and oversee Key Stage 2. 

Outside of school I enjoy anything involving sport and will spend most weekends with either friends or family.

I have worked here at West Borough for 3 years in two different roles. I started as our Receptionist, and I now work as the school’s Attendance Administrator. My previous roles included Bank Manager, Analyst and Project Manager. I have twin boys that are currently in primary school, and I also have two dogs. I spend most weekends watching my sons play football.

I have been Staff Governor at West Borough for one year. I have been teaching for 18 years, with 14 years of this at West Borough. Outside of work I am a mum to 2 children both of primary school age, one of whom has additional needs. I enjoy travelling, reading and swimming.
