A Warm Welcome

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to our wonderful school! I have been Headteacher at West Borough for 16 years and am as passionate about the school now as the day I started. I am a firm believer that if children feel happy and safe at school they will learn. Your child's time with us is precious and all the staff in school work together to ensure all children reach their full potential. We work in partnership with parents, carers and families too, as this is an essential part of a child's progression.

I look forward to meeting you.

West Borough Primary School is a 2 form entry school with a Nursery on the outskirts of Maidstone. We are very proud of our GOOD school and wonderful children.

"Pupils enjoy their school life, especially the opportunities they have to learn through a variety of engaging activities across the core and wider curriculum." Ofsted

Our school is well resourced and is set in extensive grounds.

In our recent Parent Voice Survey, 99% said they would recommend our school to another parent!

"The children are at the centre of everything." Parent

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Ashley Crittenden (Headteacher). Our Deputy DSLs are Mrs Lisa Edinburgh, (Deputy Headteacher), Mrs Kelly (Assistant Headteacher) and Mrs Sara Burtwell (Family Liaison Officer). You can contact a DSL at any time by emailing dsl@west-borough.kent.sch.uk.

Our School Prospectus gives an overview of our school. For more information, to book a tour of the school or to meet with the Headteacher, please contact Mrs Bovis, PA to the Headteacher on 01622 726391.
