Language of the Term

At West Borough Primary School, we are proud of the diversity of our school community. Through mutual respect and equality we celebrate the faiths and languages we have in our school.

Term 4 - Cultural Fair

We are very excited to be hosting our Cultural Fair on 1st March.

Therefore we are celebrating many of the languages spoken in our school this term!

Term 3 - Cantonese

Our West Borough Primary School Language of the Term is Cantonese. It is one of the languages spoken in China and an official language of Macau. Cantonese is usually written with traditional Chinese characters.

Cantonese language has got 6 tones that’s why there are numbers next to the words to help us.

Term 2 - Malayalam

Our West Borough Primary School Language of the Term for Term 2 is Malayalam.

Malayalam is mainly spoken in South West India.  Malayalam is the most common first language spoken at West Borough. It is spoken by 34 million people in India.
