Vision and Values

Our Vision

At West Borough Primary School we work together in a safe and inclusive community where every child is respected, takes responsibility, embraces challenges, values equality, and develops the resilience to succeed in life. We aim to nurture confident, curious, and compassionate learners, where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. We embrace diversity and celebrate differences, encouraging everyone to approach learning opportunities with resilience and enthusiasm.

Our Core Values

Our vision is underpinned by our 5 core values, which are;

Respect – We value ourselves, others, and the world around us.

Resilience – We keep going when things are tough, learn from mistakes, and never give up.

Responsibility – We take ownership of our learning, actions, and choices.

Equality – We treat everyone fairly, celebrate differences, and ensure everyone has the same opportunities to succeed.

Challenge – We embrace learning opportunities, push ourselves to improve, and aim high.

 Behaviour

This year, we will be focussing on developing our Behaviour Policy. We will focus on 3 key words - Ready, Respectful and Safe.

These will underpin everything we do:

1.‘Ready’ - Ready is the right time, right place and the right attitude. Readiness for all things including being ready for learning, ready to listen, ready to go to lunch etc.

2.‘Respectful’ - Respectful is caring for ourselves, our people and our environment. When people are respectful, they are showing respect to their peers, to adults, to their environment, to themselves.

3.‘Safe’ - Safe is taking actions that look after myself and others. Being safe at school leads to everyone feeling safe in the learning environment, safe with the people around them and safe in the activities in which they are taking part in.
